Wallace Ryburn, 77, of Danville appeared to have suffered cardiac arrest while behind the wheel of the truck, which was headed southbound on Interstate 680 on Tue Calif. Hwy Patrol spokesman Officer Brandon Correia said. Ryburn hit the gas pedal, collided with a Ford Edge and Hyundai Sonata, and crashed through a wooden barrier before going across 2 lanes of traffic on Contra Costa Blvd. and hitting the house.

The crash happened during commute traffic, and cars were traveling no faster than fifteen miles per hour at the time, according to the CHP.

The drivers in the 2 other cars that Ryburn hit were uninjured.
